Printed circular from the clerk of marine records in the Register's Office of the U.S. Treasury Department to Collector John B. Swanton of Bath, Me. The circular states that proof has been received that various marine papers have been taken by force from certain ships and detained abroad, stolen, lost or mislaid. It provides a list of the ships with missing papers along with the issuing port of the marine paper, a description of the type of marine paper, and the year issued. Included on list are several steamboats from New Orleans, La.
